Quick Start Guide

Electronic gadgets often come with a Quick Start Guide, also known as, “If you won’t read the instruction manual, at least read this one page, you lazy bum, before you break something.”

SO... one of our riders gave us this great idea: A Quick Start Guide. If you don’t want to read all of this lovely yet annoying web site, here’s the minimum you need to know to have fun on the ride*

When Is the Ride?

You can do one, two, or all three days -- your choice:

Friday August 9th

7:00 a.m.

If you are taking our morning transport from NYC to The Farm Ride meet us at:

W. 33rd Street between 11th Ave & 12th Ave/Manhattan

Look for our vans and bike truck.

We depart at 8:00 a.m. sharp, so don't be late!

You should be dresssed, fed, with your bike and luggage, ready to go.

We will stop along the way for bathroom breaks and snacks, of course.

3:00 p.m.

There's a leisurely 17-mile ride this day to get ice cream.

Meet at 3 p.m. in front to The Deluxe Dorms with your bike, tires pumped, dressed, ready to ride.

Pay for your own ice cream; otherwise this ride is free.

5:30 p.m.

If you are taking our afternoon transport from NYC to The Farm Ride meet us at:

W. 33rd Street between 11th Ave & 12th Ave/Manhattan

Look for our vans and bike truck.

We depart at 6:30 p.m. sharp, so don't be late!

You should be dresssed, fed, with your bike and luggage, ready to go.

We will stop along the way for bathroom breaks and snacks, of course.

6:30 p.m.

Meet at the Deluxe Dorms for a VERY short ride to the UMass dining commons -- voted #1 in the country by The Princeton Review, two years in a row. Pay for your own dinner. Pedal back to the dorms when you're ready.

8:30 p.m

There's another leisurely 17-mile ride this day to get ice cream in case you missed the first run. (Or if you are an ice cream pig... like me...)

Meet in front to The Deluxe Dorms with your bike, tires pumped, dressed, ready to ride.

Pay for your own ice cream; otherwise this ride is free. LIGHTS -- FRONT AND REAR -- ARE MANDATORY. A little blinkie light should do the trick, but we will be riding on some off-street paved bike trails that are DARK.
